Ehhh .... I agree but then again

In Darrick Fuentes's blog he discuss the over exaggeration the media had during the Ebola "outbreak" and although I do agree with him that the media did over hype it a tad, the "forcing" of individuals out of their homes in order to be treated is justified as Mr. Spock once said "The needs of the many outweigh the needs few." Living in a democracy governed by the few but ruled by the many this applies to a lot of the decisions that are made in America.

"Ebola then spreads through human-to-human transmission via direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes) with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and with surfaces and materials (e.g. bedding, clothing) contaminated with these fluids." This also includes sweat so what if and this is just a what if question, so what if you are in the early stages of being infected with Ebola virus and like me you sweat a lot our hands get sweaty and someone walks up to you and attempts to shake your hand some people may wipe off their hands before said shake others may not. That example right their is enough is right their enough to make you think twice about your hygiene even though we are more advanced technologically and medically in comparison to Africa this does not mean we cannot also be as easily broken especially when dealing with diseases.

Finally, Darrick is right though the media did blow this a bit out of proportion by making this seem more terrifying then what it was if the media did its job right the could have simply went on informed everyone of the situation and provided precautions to take in order to avoid infection

What is going ?

As I grow older I loose my willingness and motivation to push on in my life. As a child I looked kept looking forward in search of a better, but as of recently many things have changed it seems our Nation is beginning to give way to the weight of its own desires and greed. When I look at our nations flag, I am no longer overwhelmed with a sense of righteousness, a belief of equality and feelings of being safe. I no longer see the vision of land of freedom and justice our Founding Fathers envisioned.

Over the recent years our nation seems to be getting worse and worse with police brutality rising, young men and women dying left and right, countries becoming war zones, and voters unwittingly voting republican.

"Washington, June 27 - The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation." If the police are not meant to protect us, who do we look for when the sunsets or when no one is looking? Even though laws are meant to protect and provide guidelines for the men, women, and children of this great nation how can we truly expect to feel fully safe when those we thought were meant to protect us only protect the guidelines by which they also enforce?

Now I bet your wondering where am I going with is?

This was just one example of why I see our nation as growing worse. What I am basically getting at is as an individual as a citizen I do not feel safe in a country where those sworen "up hold my community" that the officers are sworn to protect the law not the citizens but from last I saw reading the constitution and the bill of rights during Government is that there are a lot of misunderstandings when it comes to the interpretations of the various laws and rights set by the government.

Another explain was a video requested by the Mr. Seago to watch John Olivers Video on Drones you didn't get the chance to see it here it is. But during this video John Oliver discusses some of the freighting comments made during some these officials speeches.

I have to disagree.....

In Tijuana Whitlocks "Weak President Strong Government: What Would the Founding Father's Think?" How can an individual only blame one branch of government as the poster child of weakness in the government I do not understand that. "Our nation during the last few years under the Obama Administration has gone through a dramatic change.  Not a change for the better, quite the opposite a change for the worst.  This administration has become more like a dictatorship than a presidency." As we have learned in most government classes and history classes, since the Founding of our nation we have implemented 2 systems the first, being separation of powers and the second, being the system of checks and balances allowing each branch of government to maintain an equal amount of power over each other.

First, Obama has sponsored over 137 different bills throughout his years of presidency, some which include the Military Family Job Protection Act, Homes for Heroes Act of 2007, and the Global Poverty Act of 2007.  Homes for Heroes Act of 2007, "Amends the Department of Housing and Urban Development Act to establish in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) a Special Assistant for Veterans Affairs to: (1) ensure veteran access to HUD housing and homeless assistance programs; (2) coordinate all HUD programs and activities relating to veterans; and (3) serve as a HUD liaison with the Department of Veterans Affairs." Assuring better homes for low income and homeless veterans.

Secondly, you discuss how bad the government has become since Obamas administration has been in office, but that is a very bold statement especially with  republican party ruling a majority of  Congress with 242 republicans to 193 Democrats(today). Also, as we all know with Obama being a democrat the republicans are not going to be very ecstatic about any new bills sponsor or proposed by President Obama. Another thing I disagreed with was your statement, "Our nation's security is in question." My question to you is when has it ever not been in question?

In conclusion I believe you did good job stating your opinion and relating why you feel that way towards your beliefs but I wasn't very convinced because you only stated the topics and didn't really give facts behind them.

Who Remembers America's war on poverty

Poverty

President Lyndon B. Johnson while in office decided to take a stand and begin the "War on Poverty" introducing initiatives in order to improve education, health, skills and jobs, but somewhere along the lines the "War on Poverty" became the "War on Terror". Although the war on terror is helping create thousands of jobs for American citizens we are pushing ourselves further into debt. America is essentially trying to learn how to swim while carrying weights.

Even though we have been able to hold our own since the 1960s we still have much more work that needs to be done. We need to have more citizens to invest their precious time into donating more money into charities such as the Food for the Hungry, National Alliance to end Homelessness, and CEDARS. By citizens I mean the substantially wealthy to many times  have walked by and seen a Corvette or Porsche pull up next to the poor  will not even look in his/her direction. Majority of people that donate to the poor are hardworking middle class citizens.

Now it is not fair for me to say that we have not made any progression since 1964 when the War on Poverty was first began. But in 2012 49.7 million Americans were struggling with the economic and social hardships of living below the poverty line, including 16.4 million children. Now the most terrifying is that 16.4 million children are struggling with poverty in the U.S. alone. It has been proven by the Census Bureau that children who re born into poverty have a higher risk of being in poverty as an adult. This includes single parent homes, minority homes, and families who have only achieved their high school diplomas.  These are future generations and yet there out here struggling to eat on daily basis while many of us complain out what happens in our everyday lives. America is supposed to be the land of opportunity yet we have very little opportunities to offer.

Once we establish who in our nation is poor is when we can officially begin the steps in order to fight poverty effectively.  The Census Bureau’s Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) accurately measures poverty size. Allowing us to become a few steps closer.

Because of Obama, really?

If  you have not heard Larry Klayman(to the right) is suing the federal government, however get this its not because the federal government has done anything wrong, but because HE believes that president Barack Obama and his administration secretly created the Ebola Virus as a biological weapon in order to further terrorist activity against the, "Caucasian race and Jewish-Cristian religion."
An anonymous blogger posted this hilarious news on Crooks and Liars. The anonymous blogger goes on to discuss the moronic claims and utter stupidity of Larry Klayman. He even goes on pointing out that Larry Klayman even goes on claiming, "Barack Obama is not actually an American citizen, and his birth certificate is fake and president Obama deserves to arrested on basically every charge possible." Based solely on the fact that president Obama refuses to implement a travel ban on people from other countries who encountered the outbreak. But, legal activist Larry Klayman does not stop there and continues to say that, "taken alive to be deported and pay for his inadequacies under the rule of law," but says that the President "must be forced from office as soon as possible, before all is lost."  Doing some more research I found that Larry Klayman is widely known for his stances toward president Barack Obama.

Now me personally, I definitely agree with this anonymous blogger Larry Klayman is just being ignorant and is making enormous assumptions slandering his name.

Why pay taxes when you can move Nations

Multinational Corporation Inversion

U.S. -based Multinational corporations have decided to have a "patriotic" change of heart and alter their nationalities by moving many of their headquarters over seas. But, these recent alterations were not caused by a sudden interest in taking up the sights or admiring  European culture, but to avoid greater worldwide taxation, in other words U.S. income tax, also legally known as "tax inversion." In which 45 companies in the last 14 years have steadily increased.( Shown in the graph below)
"Imagine you are a California-based widget manufacturer competing around the world against a Dutch widget manufacturer. You both compete in Latin America and pay taxes on your income there. Trouble is, your Dutch competitor can reinvest those profits back in its home country without paying additional taxes, but you can't,"  a  good example which was stated by AndrĂ©s Martinez in USA Today. However, in recent discussions between republicans and democrats the topic has been less about the inversions of large corporations, but largely on the outdated tax code and if it should be revamped becoming more so like the Territorial tax system embraced by other countries. After reading this article, I oppose that U.S. should also embrace the territorial tax system.

U.S. -based multinational corporations such as McDonalds which estimates about 1.5 billion each year in revenue, Apple which estimates about 46.3 billion in revenue each year and EA which estimates another 3.8 billion in revenue this is not including the various other large corporations that cover our enormous nation. With the large amounts of revenue these enormous corporations U.S. income tax should be no problem at all. Not only that but with the large amounts of income that are produced by these large corporations although much of it is funded back into the company to make newer and more advanced technology, it can also be integrated into making better medical equipment, roads, and other such advances.

Scotland's Independence

Looks like Texas isn't the only one that's trying to demonstrate its independence. In recent news , Scotland voters went to the polls today, and will be deciding on whether or not to become an independent country ending its long lasting union with the United Kingdom. The outcome of voters is expected to be pretty high, with a massive amount of voters rushing the polls as soon as they opened. What outcomes may this bring in the near future?  If Scotland does successfully secede, what will happen to the United Kingdom, and will this secession cause tension between the two? I believe so, many British officials are saying that an independent Scotland would no longer be able to use the pound as a source of currency, many of Scotland's major banks are also discussing moving to London's if the secession is successful.
